Privacy Policy — Knovelty

1. What we collect

We collect the email you sign up with, your username, avatar, school, gender and birthdate (if you add them), and the quizzes, textbooks, review history, competition entries, messages and purchases you make. For paid textbooks, we store the buyer's full name and student ID; free acquisitions need neither. We also record basic usage data such as page visits, streaks, points and ad views.

2. How we use your data

To run the service: schedule reviews, track progress, run competitions and leaderboards, power chat and friends, and show ads targeted by age, gender and interests. Your full name and student ID are shared only with the seller of a textbook you buy, so they can verify and refund purchases. We do not sell your personal data.

3. Copyright checks

The text of textbooks you create is automatically compared with paid textbooks to detect copying. Flagged textbooks may be reviewed by our team.

4. Public content

Public quizzes are visible to other users with your username, avatar and stats. Published free and paid textbooks show their title, price and seller in the Store; their content is visible only to people who acquire them. Textbooks are otherwise private.

5. Sessions and devices

We store a device identifier to keep your account signed in on only one device at a time.

6. Payments

Payments for credits and subscriptions are processed by Paystack. We don't store your card details.

7. Storage and security

Data is stored with our infrastructure provider and protected so only you can access your private content. We use encryption in transit.

8. Your rights

You can edit or delete your content and account at any time from Settings. To request full account deletion, contact us at hello@knovelty.app.
